Summary: This spiral bound book is 15 pages of vintage tatting and crochet patterns that were originally published somewhere between 1925 and 1935. There are some tatting "How to" instructions along with 7 tatted edging patterns ranging from simple to very elegant and complex. They are photocopies of the original published piece so all patterns are explained in vintage style instructions. The black and white images of the tatted edging are placed next to the written pattern so it is easy to tell what pattern you are tatting.

Summary: As mentioned in the title portion the copy I have is from "House of White Birches" which is not available anymore. You can purchase this from Iva Rose or find it on the Antique Pattern Library. I purchased mine in the 1990's when the internet was still in it's infancy so a book like this was quite a treasure. I still think that they are treasures despite that they are reproductions! The House of White Birches copy that I own does not provide any historical background of the original book like the year it was originally published. It looks to be the same style as the other Priscilla tatting books published in the early 1900's. Black and white images of beautiful intricate edgings and motifs, bags, doilies, and yokes. The patterns are written in vintage style instructions.

Summary: The contents of this book are in public domain. I enjoy having reproductions of vintage books because it's easier for me to snuggle up in a chair with a softbound spiral book than it is with my laptop. These patterns are from the originally published version from 1917 so the pattern instructions are very vintage style. There are 15 pages packed with several motifs, edgings and even a tatted basket. The tatting patterns are intricate and very beautiful! I am still bound and determined to do that butterfly on the front cover!

The vintage style written patterns are a great for anyone up for a challenge to figure out how to tat the same pieces with modern techniques.
